
Yay! Out of all the cheap domestic beers, Piels wins my vote. It’s light enough to put down quick and provides a clean buzz each time. The first time I saw the forty was in the pine barrens of Jersey, it reminded me of Schlitz. I think they were going for that, because the beers are strikingly similar. Piels’ wider availability and awesome constancy lets me vouch. Everytime I’m looking for light, cheap beer I scope out the Piels. Jeff recommends using a lime. Addendum: Don’t be put off Piels ugly, archaic label. It’s just there to remind you how old they are and how long alcoholics have trusted it.
